๐Ÿš€ January 10 Deadline Looms: Bitcoin ETF Approval Hangs in the Balance

๐Ÿ‘‡ 1) Despite news reports that a Bitcoin Spot ETF approval by the SEC was imminent, with various media sources claiming an approval would be granted by Jan 2 or Jan 3 (Reuters) or by Jan 5 (Fox and TechCrunch), expectations have now pushed back to the last day of the deadline on Jan 10 (Wednesday).

๐Ÿ‘‡ 2) On Friday, Jan 5, Better Markets (a non-profit but anti-crypto) think tank made similar arguments as we presented last week regarding why the SEC could deny the ETFs at this point โ€“ namely, 1) the Court decision in the Grayscale lawsuit centered simply on a failure to adequately explain why Futures ETFs were approved but not Grayscaleโ€™s Spot ETF and 2) implementation of a surveillance sharing agreement of a market of significant size is not in place to detect manipulation and wash trading.
